Introduction to wet felting – a beginner’s journey
In this wet felting workshop students will learn the basic technique of creating felted fabric from wool roving (unspun sheep’s wool). Over the course of three hours we will cover the theory of felting, the equipment needed, choosing and laying the wool roving, and finally the techniques used for felting and fulling the piece. Through this workshop you will gain the skills necessary to wet felt by yourself at home. The felted material you take home at the end of the course can be hung as a wall hanging and framed, or transformed with sewing into something practical like a small bag, cushion, place mat, or coasters.
Physical requirements: The felting process requires the physical use of your arms, hands and fingers.
Cost: $75 per person, with a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 10 people.
Includes instruction and the use of all equipment and wool.

3D felting – using a ball to create a vessel
In this intermediate-level wet felting workshop students will learn how to wet felt around a ball to create a beautiful vessel. Over the course of three hours we will cover the difference between 2D and 3D felting, laying the wool and adding a design to the 3D object, felting the wool, and finally drying it. Through this workshop as a platform, you will gain the felting skills and techniques necessary to create many different felted 3D sculptures. The vessel you take home at the end of the course can be used as decorative piece, or used to hold dry objects, or can be used as a vase by placing a jar inside.

Needle felt a wall hanging
In this beginner needle felting workshop students will learn how to needle felt a relief wall hanging using a template. Over the course of three hours we will cover how to transform a drawing into felted art, first by cutting out a woolen felting template, then by needle felting over top of it.
Preparation: Please come with a 12″ X 12″ (approximately) drawing of a single object as there won’t be time to draw at the workshop. Some ideas include an animal, face, or plant. Keep your drawing simple, this is especially important for your first attempt. If you don’t like drawing, feel free to print something off the internet.
